The pink buttons to the left of the screen show the clothes, shoes and wigs which you can choose from; click on them to look at the clothes. Click on the clothes to dress the girl. The clothes and the shoes don't have any colour; look at the colours on the right. Choose and colour and click on it, then click on the girl's clothes to apply it.
